Pace for Peace 5K March 19th Hillsborough

The 1st Annual Pace for Peace 5k Run, which will be held March 19th, 2016 at Orange High School in Hillsborough, NC is a certified 5k road race benefiting Nourish International, an organization dedicated to making a lasting impact on poverty around the globe. All proceeds will go directly to their campaign, particularly a project benefiting a branch of the organization in Ecuador. The race will be put on by the Orange High School Peace Club. HRC Trail Series – Al Buehler Trail Saturday 15th August at 7.45am

We look forward to meeting all HRC members at our next trail run. We will meet in the gravel parking lot just after the entrance to the Washington Duke Inn at 7:45.

Please confirm attendance, so that we have enough Bojangles and Krispy Kremes for all.

As always there is no cost for the run or breakfast as long as you are a member of HRC. If you aren’t a member, no problem, membership forms will be available.

No to Domestic Violence 5K – October 3rd, Pittsboro

October is the National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  Let’s make a difference in the life of the abused and neglected women and children in NC by participating in this fundraising event for Tokens of Care, a charitable nonprofit organization, that delivers hope by visiting and providing gifts to the women and children at the Family Violence and Rape Crisis Centers, at Women’s shelters and at Children’s Homes.

HRC Sponsored Got GRIT 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run – 30th May

Join us for a great family event. There will be a 5k race with chip timing. We will also have a one mile Fun Run/Walk and a Toddler Trot for the little ones. Runners in the 5k will compete for over 100 trophies. All participants in the One Mile event (adults and children) will receive a medal. After the race please stay for some tasty refreshments. During the award ceremony we will have a drawing for prizes. Child care will be provided while parents run the 5K. The event will be held, rain or shine! No refunds! Instead of t-shirts, this year all participants in both races will receive a goody bag containing a unique ‘got grit?’ race cap and Hanteen. We love young runners…..all school-age youth, ages 6-19, can run in the competitive 5K for only $15.00. Profits from the race go for grit awards and scholarships for Orange County students.
