We look forward to meeting all HRC members at our next trail run. We will meet in the gravel parking lot just after the entrance to the Washington Duke Inn at 7:45.

Please confirm attendance, so that we have enough Bojangles and Krispy Kremes for all.

As always there is no cost for the run or breakfast as long as you are a member of HRC. If you aren’t a member, no problem, membership forms will be available.

See you there!

HRC Sponsored Got GRIT 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run – 30th May

Join us for a great family event. There will be a 5k race with chip timing. We will also have a one mile Fun Run/Walk and a Toddler Trot for the little ones. Runners in the 5k will compete for over 100 trophies. All participants in the One Mile event (adults and children) will receive a medal. After the race please stay for some tasty refreshments. During the award ceremony we will have a drawing for prizes. Child care will be provided while parents run the 5K. The event will be held, rain or shine! No refunds! Instead of t-shirts, this year all participants in both races will receive a goody bag containing a unique ‘got grit?’ race cap and Hanteen. We love young runners…..all school-age youth, ages 6-19, can run in the competitive 5K for only $15.00. Profits from the race go for grit awards and scholarships for Orange County students.

Occoneechee Speedway 5K –

Today saw great weather and a great venue for the inaugural Occoneechee Speedway 5K Race in support of Scout Troop 328.

The course ran around the historic Occoneechee Speedway track and then took in a mixture of paved and single track trail before finishing on the start/finish straight.

There were historic race cars around the grounds and along the start/finish straight revving their engines for the start of the race. Awesome sound, great start to the race.

HRC members had a great time and are looking forward to next year!

Occoneechee Speedway Relay 25 January 2015

It was a beautiful day for the inaugural running of the Occoneechee Speedway Relay Race, put on by Bull City Running.

Over 50 teams of 2 or 4 runners turned out for the 20 lap (approx. 14 miles). There were 3 teams from HRC (Grove Girls, Sikes Boys, and the Grey Hares).

Occoneechee Speedway is a great location for a race. Don’t forget the 5K run/walk on Saturday 11th April at 10am, details via the Race Links page.
